I wonder if Amy will be back to dance with JB. I am sure the stress and too much activity is not good for Crohns sufferers. Having said that I have a young friend who has had it most of her life and she regularly runs marathons.

What a shame to see Punam go, but she was one of the few with no dance experience.

I think it always comes down to personalities Ann. People vote for their faves regardless of ability.

So we go on, and it will get more difficult each week. :-0

AnninGlos Report 28 Oct 2024 07:35

I was surprised to see it was Shayne as well. I liked his Paso although he could have done more dancing, that is down to the choreography though. He was definitely best in the dance off. However Punam came with no dancing or acting experience and a culture difference as well. To keep doing her full time GP job as well as learn all the new dances and characterisations was difficult for her and I think she did well to get this far. Interesting that there is a definite split at the moment with a group of good dancers at the top and the group of not so good at the bottom of the leader board. As you say Belle interesting to know what will happen next week That is twice Shayne has been in the dance off, maybe we are down to personalities now as much as dancing.

I was surprised to see Shayne in the dance off again :-0

I think though it was time for Punam to go although her Tango was good it did look as if Gorka was dragging her around at times:-0. That said I thought Punam had done very well especially as she is a full time GP, so well done to her :-)

Boy is it going to be difficult next week to choose, especially if they all up their game again :-(

It will be interesting to see how Icon Week turns out :-D

I thought when Amy & JB were being interviewed she had some red areas on her forehead but thought perhaps that was just makeup even though it looked out of place :-(. I hope Amy is ok <3.

MotownGal Report 27 Oct 2024 15:52

Amy does suffer from Crohns Disease which needs treatment every now and then. She is a real trooper that girl <3

I found it a bit weird Andysmum, but obviously someone thought it a great wheeze :-S

Andysmum

Andysmum Report 27 Oct 2024 15:30

Amy was apparently feeling unwell, the ambulance was called as a precaution and she is now feeling much better.

Thank you for putting me straight about Claudia's double. :-)

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Oct 2024 14:15

I hope Amy is OK. I have just seen she was taken to hospital by ambulance after she suffered a medical emergency just after they danced.

It was meant to be creepy (Haloween). :-D

MotownGal Report 27 Oct 2024 12:36

That 'woman', Andysmum, was Carlos Gu, one of the professional dancers. :-D :-D :-D

Andysmum

Andysmum Report 27 Oct 2024 12:33

Did anyone else notice the woman looking like Claudia's double, standing beside her for the first half of the programme copying her every move but not saying anything? I found her irritating and distracting and I wonder if someone complained, because she disappeared. Or was it my imagination? :-S

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Oct 2024 09:35

I thought it was my imagination (Anton and Craig) Belle. I wonder if it was planned.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 27 Oct 2024 08:53

It is getting more difficult as the couples progress :-0

Since the start of the competition I think Pete, Montell & Sam have progressed the most especially as they are all non-dancers :-)

I didn't think Chris's Samba was his best dance but that said it is remarkable that he can dance to such a high standard with all things considered :-)

I did like Sarah's Argentine Tango but there again I am a sucker for that dance :-)

I thought that Shayne's Paso was different but it worked often or not when they move away from the matador if doesn't :-)

I think the dance of the night for me was Jamie's American Smooth, they certainly looked the part :-)

The dance that made me laugh was Sam's, seeing them both in suspenders was just so funny :-)

Although the lifts were good, Wynne's Cha Cha Cha just wasn't as good as his earlier dances :-( Sadly, he does seemed to have lost some of his sparkle ever since the 'bad joke' episode :-(

I think it will be Wynne and Punam in the dance off with Punam to go :-( But who knows :-D

I did think Anton and Craig had swopped roles with Anton being the more critical of the two :-0

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Oct 2024 08:00

The costumes were good but I do find some of them distract from the dance. And it is hard to take the judges seriously when they are all dressed up too.

I wonder if it will be Punam and Wynne in the dance off although there are several with 31 points who could be at risk. I think my favourites were Jamie, Sara and Tasha. But I did like Shayne's Pasa doble. (I didn't write anything down so I think it was Shayne).

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 27 Oct 2024 07:55

Well the Twins from Shining were enjoying themselves a little too much last night :-D :-D :-0

I dont know what was wrong with my judgement last night, but two dances I thought quite ordinary the Judges raved about. Namely Sarah and Tasha :-S :-S

Chris never ceases to amaze me, he is so on the ball. Diane must be a terrific coach, but nothing can be taken away from Chris. He really throws himself into the dancing. He seemed concerned he would be voted out as most of the dancers who danced first had gone. But his Samba was great!

I thought Pete's Vienese Waltz was terrific, very artistic. Montell did a Cha Cha, but the Judges kept harking back to her Couples Choice which I thought was unfair. Punams Tango was dramatic, but did not get a good reception from the Judges I thought.

Poor Wynne seems to struggle with Katya crawling all over him! :-0 Wasnt too keen on the Foxtrot by JB sadly.

I was screaming at the tv for Shane to start dancing, instead of his partner Nancy dancing around him. Jaimie was as ever entertaining with his American Smooth Foxtrot.

I thought Sam upped her game with the Time Warp Jive, it made me laugh to see them both in suspenders. :-D

Did anyone notice Shirley lost a fingernail halfway through, then suddenly it appeared again. Someone must have rushed on with the adhesive :-D :-D

Maybe Punam and Shane in the dance off.

Fright Night tonight on Strictly :-0 :-0

Not a fan of all the dressing up, but the make-up artists and costumiers do a good job. :-)

MotownGal Report 21 Oct 2024 07:34

Im sorry but I think this is getting silly now.

Of course Paul was going to go, but we have that old chestnut again, of pitting a good dancer with a not so good one. It makes it easy for the judges :-0 :-0

What will happen in a couple of weeks when all the duff dancers are gone?

I still dont understand why the votes for the dancers are not declared. :-S

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 21 Oct 2024 07:19

I was surprised that JB was in the dance off especially with the lovely Amy as his partner :-0

I felt sorry for Paul as he had made great strides, excuse the pun ;-) :-D. Like last week though there was only going to be one winner :-0. Both made mistakes though but Paul's timing towards the end of his dance was all over the place :-(

Well done Paul for giving it a go :-)

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 20 Oct 2024 10:11

I agree with you Maddie :-)

I do feel sorry for the non-dancers who have improved by leaps and bounds since Week 1 but are,as per previous years, overshadowed by those who have some dance experience :-(

I like Sam and hope she has done enough to remain in the eyes of the public vote :-). I think The Judges think she has potential too with their positive feedback :-)

I do feel sorry for those that go first. At the end of a long show with a lot of dancing in between it's easy to forget the first dance but JB certainly had the energy for the Jive :-)

Shayne did some incredible lifts in his American Smooth. Credit to Nancy for being so trusting:-)

Although Tasha danced well I didn't think much of it as a Tango there didn't seem to be the intensity:-( That is not her fault more the choice of music and the choreography :-). I did think when it comes to it she will do an exceptional Argentine Tango :-D

I too thought that Sarah was Toyah at one point up on the balcony :-D. Her Samba was much better than the Foxtrot of the previous week :-)

Montell's Couple's Choice was full of life and colour and she was obviously enjoying herself :-D. I do love Johannes he is such a gent and gets quite emotional when he is praised <3

I thought Wynne did very well and for someone who is portly is light on his feet :-). It will be interesting to see him in a Charleston :-D. I have to say I feel sorry for him following the hoo-ha over last week's show and he did appear to be subdued up on the balcony :-(

Once again, I thought Chris was A-maa-zing :-D. I still can't fathom out how he does the footwork so well when he can't see how it is done :-). Once again credit to Dianne on her teaching skills :-)

For me the dance of the week was Jamie's Paso :-). I'm not really a fan of his but credit where credit is due :-). The dance was so traditional and he looked very much the matador :-)

So that leaves, in no particular order ;-), Punam, Paul & Pete :-0. All non dancers but all have improved since the series began :-). For me the two in the dance off should be Punam & Paul :-). With Punam to go :-(. After last week, though, anyone could be in the dance off:-0

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 20 Oct 2024 08:10

Oh dear, this is becoming more difficult to choose each week, as they have all upped their game, again! :-0

I do love Sam's honesty. She knew she was not too good in her Quickstep, and made no excuses for it She said the other week, they were all there to do their best and work hard. She is a true competitor in every sense of the word, and hopefully she will be there again next week.

JB did a Jive that was snappy. Punam look beautiful in her yellow, floaty dress to a Vienese Waltz, and Tasha had a Tango.

I was slightly puzzled why Pete had to be wet for his dance, but he is coming on every week, and seems to be a likeable fellah, although I dont know much about him.

Sarah did a frantic Samba, and seemed to have morphed into Toyah :-0 Vito went into one his excitable explanations again, and even Claudia said, OK Vito, enough!

Shane did what I would call a film set American Smooth to good effect and Wynne was very lightfooted in his Quickstep.

Montell danced her Couples Choice to celebrate her heritage to great effect, it was vibrant and colourful. Lovely.

Most accomplished this week, Jamie with his Paso. Most emotional, Chris with his Waltz, there was hardly a dry eye in the house. He is amazing that man!

I think it will be Paul and Punam in the dance off, with Paul to go. But what do I know? :-0
