THE CHARM OF THE IRISH

A lovely story was told on the S4C Welsh Rugby-orientated Chat Show JONATHAN last week.

The presenters of “Jonathan” are former Rugby International turned Presenter- Jonathan (Jiffy) Davies, World’s Best Referee- our very own “NIGE” (Nigel Owens) and Singer, Songwriter, Actress, Presenter and Pitch-side Interviewer- SARRA ELGAN. (Daughter of former Wales International Elgan Rees)


Sarra is married to a former Ireland International, who is now one of the Ireland Coaches – SIMON EASTERBY.

It was their daughter SOFFIA’s 10th birthday, so after the Ireland v France Game, Simon and Sarra took Soffia and her younger brother FFredi (Welsh for Freddie -Spelt FF- as in Welsh one F is an English V sound) into the Ireland Changing Room to meet the team.

Sitting on the bench was JONATHAN SEXTON, who took off his Ireland shirt and gave it to Soffia for a Birthday present.

Next to him on the bench was SIMON ZEBO ... Zeeeee-bo-o!
Simon turned to Ffreddi and said “You can’t let your sister have something and not you!”
With that, he took off his boots, got a pen, signed them and gave them to a very happy FFredi!
