Good evening
Only one more door to open on the calendar. Where has the month gone? It has been good to start the day quietly each morning with a look at the entry for that day. Thank you Cynthia for posting the link each day.
I am looking forward to the radio broadcast tomorrow of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from Kings, Cambridge. I listen every year and for me it is the real start of Christmas.
I am sorry you have not been feeling 100% David. I hope things pick up for you very soon.
Like Kandj I have been thinking of those who are finding it difficult to feel festive. Christmas is such a family time that many who have lost a loved one recently or who are alone for any reason must really struggle. I pray for support and peace for them and thank God for the love of my own family and friends.
In case I don’t manage to post again before Christmas I thank Cynthia for keeping the thread going for another year and thank all you posters for your contributions, and I wish you all a blessed, calm and happy Christmas <3 <3

Hello all
The fourth Advent candle was lighted in church this morning. It is another purple one which is known as the Angel's Candle and signifies Peace. With this one we are reminded of the Angel's message of "Peace on earth, goodwill towards men."
David, very sorry you're not feeling well and I hope you will feel much better soon.
Thoughts and prayers to all who may be struggling with the so-called Festive Season. Sending ((hugs)) now to all who need them x

The theme at church today is very much based around the Virgin Mary and the birth of Jesus.

Emma, February will soon come. Moving is very stressful and there always seems to be some last minute hitch but I hope everything goes smoothly for you. We decided to make a move some six years ago and it’s the best thing we have done. I wish you as much happiness in your new home as we have found in ours.
I hope your day has been less chaotic Cynthia. I am full of admiration for the amount you do. I think you must have a little clockwork motor running inside. I am still enjoying opening a new advent window each day. I haven’t found the chocs yet so I will have to make do with the prayers ;-)

Good morning :-)
Would you believe it is now seven years since this thread began? John, who began it, was banned for 6 years so I volunteered to look after it. Never, ever thought it would continue for so long though. At the beginning, I used to write down the prayers I had used so as not to repeat them too often, but that soon stopped as I became more involved. Over 2,500 prayers later...………………………..whew!
I am not in touch with John, but if anyone is, please give him my regards - he may want to resume responsibility again :-
