I suppose it was difficult and the main aim among the 100 there was to get photos of actual family. It is such a complicated family with first wives and husbands there and second wives and husbands as well and even swop over partners all mixing together, I lost count of who was who. Even before it started. I

It sounds like you had a good time too AnnG and the bridesmaids' hair with interwoven pearls and matching earings sounds very pretty. I think I would have made sure that every guest was included on one photo so they had a memory of the day, but I see what you mean and it's not a big deal, as you will have your own photos or Lyn's. It was a shame about Wast Water, but most popular places get so busy now at this time of the year. At least you got a few photos. I imagine you will be ready for a more restful day tomorrow unless you have plans.
That sounds like a lovely memory Glynis. Have you anymore as we seem to have run out of steam. :-)

Walking around the coastal path with my mother and then calling in at The Point House for a lemonade and crisps for my mum and a shandy and crisps for me. We would sit on the wall and look at the sea. Wonderful times.

I should have said I will have to wait for one of the official photos. Neither daughter of I took photos of the bride or of each other as there were too many people around. The two weddings really sound very different. Our ‘favours’ were scratch cards. I didn’t win. We have been lucky with the weather, three days of beautiful sunshine.

I took 96 photos in all so I shall have to send you lots just a few as I promissed the mother of the bride I would send them to her and its going to take me ages.

Poor Colin is not going to want another sausage roll for a while is he Mandy. Minced meat contains more bacteria and you never know how well cooked the meat is either with bought ones, or if they left them out in the warm too long after cooking them. The fact that he was ok between having them point to them having been the cause as you say. I hope he will be ok now. I would have thrown them out too!
You could be right about the neighbour's son. The first time it happened our neighbour opposite whose bungalow is next to the gate said he was drunk. They said he has a home, so it could be he comes to sleep it off at his parents' house. If I spot the neighbour for a chat she'll tell me if she's spoken to them again. It's no fun for them as their bedroom window is only a few yards from the gate.
We used to get those bright blue damsel flies when we had our little pond years ago Mel. It is such an electric blue isn't it. We've had some cabbage white butterflies in the garden this afternoon on the Violas. No more sign of the birds of prey though.
OH has a migraine so is laying down till his eyes clear again. He takes tablets for them and is usually ok again after about an hour, but very tired.

Back from the wedding now, too tired to type it all out again so I am going to try and copy the bit I have typed for mt diary. iday 9th August. Drove to near Wast water, stopped at the Saw Mill for lunch. Then on to. Hall our hotel for two nights. Met up with Bride and family and others who were in self catering accommodation. Checked in to our rooms, mine number one Lyn and Joe’s number 4. Unpacked and sat outside in the lovely sun. At 5pm when the bar opened had a glass of wjite wine. Had a nice meal in the evening, shared a couple of starters, olives. Hummus, bread, oil and grilled Brie. Then Lyn and I had Haddock and chips and Joe had scampi and chips. All really nice.
Saturday 10th August Wedding day. After a really nice full English breakfast we stayed in our rooms getting ready for the wedding until going to the wedding suite at 1215 as we had to be I. The wedding room at 1230. There were 100 guests so we quickly took our places near the front. The ceremony went off very well and Rachel looked beautiful in a gorgeous dress, she is so slim and the dress skimmed her figure. She and the bridesmaids (4) all had their long hair put up with pearls woven into it and they all wore pearl drop earrings. The bridesmaids dresses were off the shoulder, touched almost Grecian style in a pale ecru colour.
As we left the marriage room we were given a glass of fizz and the opportunity to task a handful of confetti. Guests formed a long double line and as Rachel and Cal came through the centre confetti was thrown over them. Various photos were then taken but I was not called fir any of them. Not surprising as I am not really family as far as her Mum is concerned. We moved inside and sat in the bar waiting for the room to be ready for the reception. There were five on our table which was nice as some had eight on theirs. We had myself, Joe and Lyn and Norma Joe’s sister and Mike her husband. Speeches were given before the meal opening with Joe’s very good father of the bride speech. Toasts were given and then the meal was served. Lyn and I had prawn cocktail, roast beef and sticky toffee pudding. Joe had the same except Turkey instead of beef. It was a lovely meal, the beef was just slightly pink and mine was lovely, Lyn’s was a bit chewy she said. We finished eating about 5pm and had to clear the room so chatted for a while then went back too rooms to change for the evening. Other people were joining us then so we went back in at 7pm and found a table away from the dance floor. Not sure what the. Music was. I could not have danced to it. The room was now really full with about 150 people in it. We moved out into the bar after about an hour or so so it was easier to talk. We then left them to it and went back to our rooms. We obviously couldn’t stand the pace.nEven Maya so is now running rather than walking outstayed us.
Sunday 11 August after another really nice breakfast we packed up and checked out another glorious day so we drove to Wast Water, unfortunately we were later than planned as when going to say goodbye to all the rest of the family they were busy dismantling all the flower arrangements so we did stop and give a bit of help. So by the time we got to Wast Water there were no parking places. We managed to stop and take a few photos but it is really spoiled by all the water sports going on there. Stopped at a nice inn with a beer garden and had a cup of coffee then drove home and unpacked and sat in the garden for a while.

Its getting much hotter here now and pc says 24 degrees but theres still a good breeze blowing and it feels much hotter than the 24 degrees.
O Mandy thats not good with Colin being sick make sure he is ok after not having any sausage rolls and if he is still sick get in touch with the doctor immediately. They can give you something to stop you being sick and mum had that. My grandfather, dad and oh were sick before they had heart trouble, grandad and dad both died and oh too.
I went out to put the scimmer on the pond and saw one of those lovely damsel flies that are turquiose blue with black wings came in and got the camera and tried three times to turn it on and it just turned its self off again. NO BATTERY I had left it plugged in overnight and its the only thing that runs the battery out if I do that. All the other things like my speaker and disc machine and head light etc all carry on charging but not my camera so I have missed some lovely shots I could have sent BIL.

Afternoon all,
Lovely sunny day here and very hot, there's not a cloud in the sky .
Mel it sounds as if the wedding day went well and everyone had a lovely day, at least ths weather didn't spoil the day and the sun came out for them .
Ann thats such shame the village has been spoilt like that with all the traffic it sounded idyllic back then bit like Darling Buds of May . Oh no not more shenanigans, I wonder if the son comes home when he's drunk rather than go home to wife/partner ,you don't want to much of that in the middle of the night . Vera hope you managed to get a dessert from the shop and your probably there now at the summer party enjoying the afternoon.
Well we had lunch and Colin was sick again after ,I think its the sausage rolls as he had one of them the other day and was sick and he had another sausage roll today ,they had the date of the 16th on but the rest has gone in the bin ,thank goodness I never had one .
Tomorrow should be really hot so a day of rest I think .
Hope Anng's enjoyed day yesterday and everything went OK, I expect we'll here later .

Morning All,
Bright and sunny today and 25 degrees now. I slept through more of the same shennanigans!! Someone was dropped off at the asian house at 3.00am, then lots of shouting for 'mum' as he couldn't get through the tall, locked, sliding gate across the end of the close. Then at 7.00 am there was a dog barking for ages! It wasn't the dogs either side of us as one hardly barks at all and the other is very old and deaf now and it wasn't his bark.
It's good you enjoyed the day Mel and that the weather picked up with some sunshine. I think I would have had to pass on all but the salad and potatoes at the barbeque! lol. I would have loved the sea view though and it's good you got yourself a box! I just told OH your BIL is usually in bed by 9.00pm and he said 'he sounds like us!'. I hope you send us some photos.
What a shame about your trifle jelly Vera, but at least you could get something to take instead from a shop. I hope you have a nice time together.
Yes, the shop I went to was at the village where the yarn bomb and air show are held now. My parents moved to midway between that village and the next in the early 60s. It used to be a beautiful village with the brook meandering mostly down the middle of the road round the bends through the village and which had white railings and a grassy bank either side with willow and other trees. The road each side of most of it was wide with the old cottages built well back either side as it originally used to flood badly years ago. On a Sunday morning I used to ride my pony there and there would be just an odd one or two cars parked and the only sound would be the clip clop of my pony's hooves or sometimes an excited child standing on a gate to watch the pony go by like I would have done once! Now an old barn has been turned into a cafe and another cafe updated to attract the trendy, young parents and their 4x4s from the new housing estates around the village. I've heard one of the 'event' organisers (who relocated there from London) saying she wants to 'put the village on the map!!' Why? The result is visitors to the yarn bomb are parking everywhere they can jam a car in and only a few parking in the field set aside for the purpose and causing the local residents to describe it as 'three weeks of hell' while the event is on. The displays are spaced over a far bigger area than need be now and they put signs warning cars to be careful of pedestrians, but strangely none suggesting pedestrians be careful of cars. What message does that give to children.
A couple of years ago children put several ropes from the trees and an old tyre to swing across the brook. Hordes of them would be being dropped off by parents and the snowdrops and other bulbs on the banks were all destroyed as was the side of the bank. Their noise and language was shocking and I saw some kicking at the ducks and ducklings as well as pulling branches from the trees. The park was only a 5 minute walk away and has a large children's play area with lots of swings, climbing equipment etc. Thankfully the council eventually fenced off the area and removed the ropes and restored it. Anyway that's enough of my moans and nostalgia!
I've cleaned the ensuite while OH hoovered through and then I did more dusting in the hall. We had lamb shanks with 7 veg today and now I'm shredding last year's car insurance docs and doing some admin and tidying up now it's getting hotter.

I had said to BIL that the sun would come out at 3.15pm and blow me it came out at 3.10pm and stayed out till dark. There was a nice strongish breeze and then came round icecream and a home made large cookie, I had a chocolate one. Lots of good chat and catching up and SIL had lost her box of ciggies and looked all up by where we went after the cerimony and was so cross as the tin was more or less full. She was still ooking for them and decided to go back to her chalet for some more. I went off to the loo and as I went to wash my hands what should be by the sid eof the basin I used but SIL's ciggy tin so I picked it up and took it back to her. She was delighted. and had forgotten she went to the ladies. She's such a scatterbrain!
We all stood around and chatted and most of us were sitting on lovely outside armchairs and I noticed a man handing out cigars from a wooden box which I recognised as ones I had at home which my aunty who worked in the sweet shop saved for me years ago which I keep a lot of my miniature things in I made years ago. Anyway the man came over and asked if we had a light as they were all vaping but I gave him mine and said on the third time of him asking You can have it if I can have the empty box.. Later he came over and took out the last three and again I gave hime the lighter and he gave me the box!! Its a lot smaller than my others but a nice size anyway. We had wedding favours on the tables of a white bucket with pearls round them and inside were a choc, a small packet of Haribo strawberry gums and a small pack of Love Hearts with just married Mr and Mrs S*****an and four little hearst underneath with thank you, for being, part of, our day.
When we went to the arbour to have othe photos taken we were all given big tubes of bubbles to blow while the man took photos. I ended up bring three lots home for the kids. There was a disco later and the first dance with the bride and her father and then her husband and our party went back outside and sat in the seating area again. Then everyone was given a light stick thing which I brought back again for the children. By this time BIL wanted to go so we came home as he had to bring me home a 40 minuet trip and then go home himself. I got in at 9.44pm so he did'nt get home till 40 mins later. Poor BIL he usually goes to bed at 9pm and was so tired. He did'nt really want to go but admitted he was glad he did as it was a super day.
Now I have bored you with all that I shall go and get myself another COC.
Have a good day all its now 22 degrees here and very sunny with a light breeze.

Morning girls,
Grey sky and pc says 19 degrees and mostly sunny.
Had a wonderful day yesterday which started with that very fine drizzle which thye all thought may put the dampers on everything as the wedding could'nt be outside as was planned so we all went into the barn as they call it. The ceremony went well and we all gathered down by the arbour overlooking the sea and cliffs where pimms was servered with belinis (sp) with cheese and smoaked salmon. which I don't eat but then came round cauiflower in a spicey crumbs and mayo if you wanted it which I liked very much and had four pieces in all. Lots of photos taken down there with the sea behind and later we passed on the the outside area with tables and chairs and the dining tables all set out in the large hall there. We had a BBQ with a burger and cheese, a sausages, chicken breast and leg in a spicy coating and lots of lovely salad and baby new potatoes roasted.
Must feed the girls will BBL.

I hope the weddings went well
You certainly see life in your neck of the woods Annx with your noisy, difficult neighbours and now a spot of drug dealing It’s very tame here by comparison. I suppose this sort of thing goes on everywhere but it’s not very nice when it’s right under your nose.
OH surprised me this morning by suggesting we had a trip out to Anglesey Abbey. Tbh, it wasn’t very convenient but I’m often moaning that we don’t do anything on the spur of the moment so felt I had to agree to it. I rushed around and did the jobs that had to be done and off we went. It was packed and we were in an overflow car park but we got served fairly quickly in the cafe and the grounds didn’t seem too crowded as we walked around. It was cloudy all day so we weren’t walking about in hot sun, though it was warm. It was good to spend some time outside in the air.
When we got back I got my part made trifle out of the fridge to add some custard. What a disaster! I don’t know what went wrong but I had used a jelly, which I don’t always. Some of the jelly had set absolutely solid, like the unmelted cubes, and the rest of it was liquid in the bottom of the dish. I’ve never seen anything like it before. So it will be a quick dash to the supermarket in the morning to buy some sort of dessert to take to the party which starts at midday.
I’m going to read a chapter of my book now and then turn the light out and hope for some shut-eye though at the moment it feels quite warm and sticky. Perhaps my few hours in the fresh air will help me to sleep.

Afternoon All,
Well I have managed to lose 2 posts today so that will teach me to cut and paste won't it! I hope the weddings went well today and that it was fine and dry. It's been a bit mixed here with sunshine then fine drizzle and black clouds.
I'm glad Colin is ok again Mandy. It might have been trolley bugs or something he ate as you say. I'm always telling OH to stop touching and rubbing his mouth as I'm sure he rubs any sanitiser off his fingers again.
I had to chuckle at your ipad glitch AnnG as I doubt Waste Water would attract many visitors. It sounds like the hotel does hearty helpings judging by your F&C, which I really fancy now.
I'm sure I saw a drug deal in the carpark at the shop today. They were alongside the tall hedge at the top and one car was behind me with the other alongside it and a drawstring bag was passed through the windows shortly followed by a white envelope passed back and then they drove out. They wouldn't have been able to see me sitting in my car in front of them watching as my back window is steeply sloped and tinted as well as wavy with reflections. I realised that with the hedge they were hidden from the cameras on the back of the shop. I might mention it to the manager next time I see him. It might be best if they cut the hedge lower to below car window height.
OH has been to the usual footie, but local this afternoon and won a bottle of white wine in the raffle. He will enjoy that as I have to stick to non alcoholic.
It's got quite muggy here now and the forecast is looking hotter and hotter the next few days. OH has a hospital check for his teeth on Tuesday, when I will drop him off and wait at Morrisons. At least it is an early appointment but methinks I might wait in the shop with a cool drink in the cafe. It's about a 15 minute walk from the hospital, but if it's too hot I can pick him up again. The only trouble is doing that means joining a very long queue.

Overcast morning here but it feels quite muggy ,I think it should get to about 23 degrees so we shall see .
Hope the weather is good for the two weddings and that everyone has a lovely day.
Not sure what we're doing we should have gone to sons as I have lots of fruit for the children but yesterday Colin was sick, so son is coming here to pick the fuit up ,Colin was fine later in the day and he's fine this morning so I don't know if it was something he ate or he might have picked something up off the trolly handle in Aldi even though we still sanitise our hands when we get in the car .
Vera you must have been really worried until they turned up , this so called technology good when it works but not when it lets you down ,glad they were OK

Good morning
It’s a bit cloudy at the moment but is supposed to brighten up and get hot again. I hope it’s good weather for the two weddings so there can be some nice outdoor photos. Have a lovely time AnnG and Mel.
Yesterday was a bit stressful as daughter didn’t arrive till 2 pm and we didn’t know what had happened to her. Even OH, who isn’t a worrier, thought something serious must have happened. Would you believe she had texted me but the text didn’t ping on my phone till 3 pm when she had already been here an hour! It was annoying as if it had come when she sent it we would have been spared a couple of hours of worrying.
Not sure what I am doing today. I have to get this trifle made at some point but otherwise the day is mine. I did find a suitable bowl for the trifle after hunting through the cupboards.
I’ve been up an hour and lingered over a cup of tea so I’d better get myself moving now, get dressed, have some breakfast and start the day.

So we are at the hotel. The weather has been glorious today. Blue sky and sun. We drove up the waste water area and had lunch in the Saw Mill cafe then on to the Irton Hall hotel. Sat in the sun for a couple of hours making friends with Milky the sheep dog and a very friendly young cat. Had a glass of white wine to get us in the party mood.. the bar opened at five but we changed in time to meet other wedding guests in the bar at 6pm. SiL and his ex wife bought first drinks for everyone in the bar with our group. I had met ex wife before and now proceeded to meet all the rest of the family, some of whom live more towards home in the Stratsford area. But this is very much a mix and match family with several ex and current partnerships. A very modern wedding and step great granddaughter the only child there. At 7.30 the three of us moved into the restaurant and had a very nice meal of fish and chips which was so big daughter and I were unable to finish.

Got it back and it cost me £360.97 they welded the subframe and two more bits and a new starter and Stuart came round with it and drove me back to his place to pay. I have also been asked to dinner with him on a Wednesday night as his son is out that night and his daughter goes to stay with her mum that day too. He said he would cook me a roast beef dinner so I am looking forward to that. He also told me to get in touch if I need anything done and he may come and pressure wash the patio roofing for me or any odd jobs. I have known him since he was a kid and he's such a lovely chap and he has just bought his wife a house as they have parted a while ago £180,000 he said he still loved her its a shame when people you know break up we rang for his wedding in the church but they were very young. His youngest daughter was 16 last week and he had older twins a boy and a girl. He is good to me cos he dos'nt charge me much for labour. He got on well with oh and they would always have a good chinwag if he went down for some red deisel for the big mower.
Lasagne for me tonight and I must get my things ready for tomorrow I am just sorting out my handbag making sure I have tissues and the camera and spare shoes if I go down to the beach.
