OH Catie .Poor lad !!!! I worked in Boot* for a while when I was 16/17.This was back in 1971.I was on the counter that sold Dure* .They were kept under the counter back then.I remember cringing when I had to ask what size was required lolol.I don't remember anyone asking for small !!!

Great to hear the girls had a wonderful time at the Zoo.They will come out with questions like that for sometime to come I think.Bless them. But as you say they are adjusting well ,and that is brilliant.

Just had 15 minutes with Shirl on Skype. She does make me laugh. Her son with Parkingson's is 54 and is just like he has come from Belson. She is trying to feed him every two hours. He says "MUM I don't want to eat, just coffee. Then 3 slices of toast later he wants MORE. OG has barracaded himself in the Bedroom, and just rings his bell for what ever he wants.!!!! poor woman, I don't know how she copes.

Even as a young married man, I would never go to the Chemist. for you know what. I would find a machine some where. Even though they were few and far between in those days !!!! Still very shy, don't you all agree.!!!!

Catie, It must have bought a lump to Mum and Dad's throat th hear the little one say that. But they are very resiliant, and with time, they will be much better. BLESS THEM ALL.

Men are always deaf if it means them getting up to deal with anything in the night Catie.
I had 2 police officers in my house one night after they crashed into a wall in their car.I heard the crash and went out and brought them in.I dealt with the policewomans ankle that was damaged while the policeman rang his boss .OH just carried on snoring his head off upstairs lol. They went off ,and I went back to bed.OH thought I was just making it up when `i told him in the morning.

I am now off to bed too now.Night Night everyone xx

Hi all,

SIL gone now. We had BIL SIL and SIL over with a grandson One SIL has grandson every other weekend. His mum died but Thomas is coping ok now. I have promised to make him a cotton reel tank for when he comes next time. I have a nice old fashioned wooden reel to di it with. He is about six I think.

Beautiful here too. The girls have gone off on a bike ride with their dad and my OH - and I'm home alone, enjoying the peace. My brother popped round for a coffee and chat..... stories of ''speed dating'' lol. He just can't seem to find the''right'' girl. Says all the girls he meets are ''gold diggers'' lol Last night he met 12 girls and each one of them asked .. How much do you earn.
How romantic is that lol

Jane

Jane Report 10 Oct 2010 14:13

Mel it that cotton reel tank the thing with elastic bands and match sticks? How old was Thomas when his Mum died?
It's a scorcher here ,no nips around my bits lol.I have dug out a strappy top ,and was thinking about my shorts ,but can't be bothered to do my legs.
Chris has now completed Greenhouse number 2 and has put some little picket fencing up along the bed at the side of the path .It looks lovely. He has been a busy bee this past week ,and is back to work tomorrow.
We will be eating outside in about 20 minutes.May as well make the most of this weather.

I thought of something my Mum used to say when she was exasperated with one of us.She would say "Oh Backsides to you" lol.I have no idea why I suddenly thought of that.

LOL David. If peeps don't know about Sadie they would wonder what you were doing !!!
Is Thanks giving like our Harvest Festival?.I wish I was nearer you Shirl ,I would come and give you a hand with your 2 men.

Catie I cannot imagine Hannah doing Speed Dating lol.She would probably say she isn't that desperate yet.I think at the moment she has just got her mind on starting this new job in London.

Well we had a surprise earlier.Just sat down outside for lunch and my sister and her OH turned up.Out of the blue. They had just been to Bury St Edmonds Hospital to see my BIL's Grandson .He is only just 2 and has broken his thigh bone.He is in traction for about 3 weeks and will then be in plaster .He somehow got his leg caught in his cot/bed.(Not quite sure how)
Poor little mite.
Janice has just left,it was so good to see her.I wish we lived closer.

Catiel,Sadie The Bra lady is a business. She supplies tailor made brassiers.
They have 4 shops and are well established.
They do house calls for the measuring service if the customer wishes.
Better a couple of tailor mades than a drawer full that don't fit properly.

Jane

Jane Report 10 Oct 2010 16:34

You are quite right David.I have a drawer full of bad fitters lol.I have never yet found a comfy one.If I could I would rather go without.

Afternoon all,

What a lovely day, blue sky with not a cloud in sight ,we've been to the coast and my goodness the people about ,walkers and twitchers !! some of the lense's on their camera's are huge ,but there was plenty of wildlife about for them to watch !! lots of Geese and ducks all in the sun shine .

Of course we had to have fish and Chips !! sounds as if we live on fish and chips as we have them when we go to the coast ,but they seem to taste so much better there, maybe its the sea air that makes you hungry .
