It's only me.I just heard Chester howling downstairs .I opened the back door for him and he dashed out into the darkness.Maybe he has a dicky tummy. So I will curl up on the settee now just in case he needs out in a hurry again.

Frank what was wrong with my posts last night .I just went through them. Was it the one about Status Quo??If it was ,I was following Davids "Doon Doon Deeper and Doon"..........S Q did that song Down ,Down ,Deeper and Down lol
Just 2 glasses last night!!

Chester is back in now so I'll shut the door and try and get back to sleep.

Morning
I'm up eary this morning as we were having computer problems again and OH didn't get to bed till after midnight trying to find out why I canot get into my e-mails, He wanted me to check if I could get acsess to them this morning and let him know before 9.00 as he has to go into a meeting and I won't be able to speak to him anytime before 12.00
unfortunatly I still can't get into my e-mails SO JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW PLEASE DON'T SEND ANY E-MAILS TO ME TODAY as I can't send or receive them
anyway I am away to have my breakfast, off up todaughter no 1 to babysit this afternoon . Hope Sofia is feeling a bit better ,daughter had to phone NHS yesterday as Sofia's temp went up to 40, she was told to turn any heat of in the house , open a window and strip Sofia down to nappy and vest,
The days when you were told to sweat a fever out are gone, It can be very confusing because so many different medical staff say one thing or another, 1 nurse told daughter keep her warm and inside,
another said it's ok to take her out , don't over wrap her up, fresh air is good for fevers !!!!!!!!

Morning All,

dull here this morning.

Frank sorry about your burning your hands. I nearly did that the other day. Just put my hand in the oven and touched the tin, no gloves on and burnt a finger! It is so easily done.

I too have an oven with a glass door and a gap between. I think it is a silly idea having to take the glass off to clean it. Fiddly too with just the two screws to get the glass out. My cookers top plates are all up the creek as well. One back one will only go on full tilt. The other back one is a duel one, either the middle part or the whole plate usually comes on but it is now playing up. the front one on the left works sometimes if your lucky. The only one that does work is the halogen large one on the right hand side.

Catie what a dreadfull experience you had at dads surprise party dinner, but I suppose you could say it was a good thing for that poor lad.

We have'nt heard from Liz (NN) lately, I hope she is ok and am wondering how she has got on with that survey her neighbour wanted about the boundry. These thiings can carry on for ages sometimes.

Poor little Sophia!! I do hope she gets better soon. As you say it is so worrying when a little is ill.

Thinking of Sheila too, and little Jess and her mum.

Och I the noo David. It's a braw brek moonlit nite tonight. Hoots mon.

I was thinking of your daughter Hannah, rare name now.

I used to have a wee crush on Hannah Gordon when I was younger.

Fiona Report 5 Oct 2010 10:09

Mel
I think you have got your country's mixed up here LOL LOL
Thank goodness no one really talks like that in the street, it would be so embarising (sp) Still can't find a way to get my spell check back on GR.
it's driving me nuts.
David just been watching an old episode of Upstairs Downstairs this morning while I was having breakfast,( like to have my breakfast in front of the tele when I am on my own)
and Hannah Gordon was in it she plays Virginia Bellamy, I like her too she is a lovely actress is she still alive and how old you think she would be.

Jane Report 5 Oct 2010 10:37

Morning Everyone.

Sun and showers here. Managed to catch the sun on a walk with Mark and feel all the better for it.

Yesterday eve I called the lady who lives next door to us in Wimbledon. Just wanted to check they were ok and also to make sure the people renting our house were behaving themselves. She went very quiet and eventually told me that the couple renting, fight like cat and dog - all hours of the day and night Then. this morning our neighbour called to say that the lady renting had stormed off about 7 this morn ...bags packed etc. When we met the couple, they seemed like a couple of love birds too. Goodness knows what will happen next .

Fiona... Hope Sophia is feeling better today. What a worry for you all.

Frank Report 5 Oct 2010 12:27

Fiona, Since I lost my spell check on Genes, I have been lost. A dictionary now sits at the side of pooter. !!!!

Jane, It must have been me !!! I had three of Red. It was about Shirls son, and hoped shirl was alright.

Mel, The oven is electric, the hob gas. I don't know how I managed to catch both hands on the shelfs of the oven. I was trying to get the wobbly dish out of oven. That is now in the bin.!!!!

Catie, You are having a time of it. Did you let through an agant. If so get them to sort out this pair. You don't need the worry.

Sun is just comming through, burnt of the morning dew, It lookwed like it had been raining this morning. everywhere soaked through. The lawns are still growing, and I've still got bulbs to put in, (Where I don't know) it all looks full to me, but Ros says we will find room !!!!

Afternoon All,

Dry but windy here now. Have just been to the farm shop and got stocked up.......didn't see any damsons there Jane.

Wasn't Elizabeth's OH at the hospital last Friday?.......Hope everything is ok.

My OH got a phone call from the doctor's yesterday afternoon......could he come in an hour's time to have a couple of neck tags removed. There was no time for him to think about the injections he hates. His hands were all shaky when he got home though like they always are when he has an injection. He was told not to shower this morning (or for 24 hours). Now he is finding they are itchy and can't wait to get the plasters off.

I've never had spellcheck on Genes.......will have to see where it is on Word!! Vista is so different I have never found my way around it properly.

Poor little Sofia. It must get very confusing when you are told different things too when you just want to do what is best.

Jane

Jane Report 5 Oct 2010 15:58

Ann I have those skin tags ,and quite a lot around my neck.I remember many years back I had a few burned off.The Dr who did it was the vicar at Jenny's funeral.I didn't half swear when the injections went in.I remember him saying "Now Jane ,Language" lol.But it stung like mad ,and the smell of the burning skin was horrible.I will hang on the lot I have I think.I seem to recall Mum having one under her arm and tying a bit of cotton around it until it dropped off.

And there is Frank trying to say I was a bit squiffy, and it was him all along lol

Annx Report 5 Oct 2010 16:27

Your poor son Shirl.....hospital sounds a good place for him at the moment so they can assess his needs like you say. How worrying for you all. It sounds like he needs a place where an eye can be kept on him. You never bore us Shirl. xxx

Jane

Jane Report 5 Oct 2010 16:48

Oh Shirl, your poor son.Thank goodness he is in the right hands now. What a worry for you with him being so far away.I'm sure it will be much better for you all when he is near you.It makes me feel so grateful that I have no worries like that (touch wood) .When I just think over the last few weeks all the things that have happened to you,Catie,Sheila,.It makes me realise that you just don't know what is around the corner.
