Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 23 Sep 2010 15:37

Afternoon all,

Horrid start to the day and it has been raining on and off all day. Really heavy showers. OH is trying to make a cover for the pond and he is in and out between the showers.

got mum to take her pills today with a glass of milk. She dos'nt want anything to eat.

Frank you don't get these bouts of the runs after one of your accidents do you? It could be shock coming out.

Where is our Shirl? Hope there is nothing wrong..................

Catie you sound ike you enjoyed your afternoon off. I can remember looking at my son when he did'nt wake in the night. Just watched to make sure he was breathing same as I do for mum in the mornings now.

Sheila lovely to hear about your stay at Annie's and glad you are enjoying yourself and learning new skills.

David hope Ellen feels a bit better today.

Maureen Report 23 Sep 2010 15:48

Poor Frank, hope you are feeling a bit better now.

I was sitting at the dining table looking out into the garden, and was entertained by a couple of squirels, one chasing the other. I have trees both sides of the garden, the squirel being chased ran up one jumped on the branches of the other and ran down it, ran across the lawn and up the same tree and down the other with the other squirel in hot pursuit, they carried on like that for ages, I got fed up watching in the end, so don't know how many more times they were chasing each other.

I was exactly the same when my children were babies Catie, you spend ages getting them off to sleep then wake them up because they are sleeping too soundly. ....

Alfie is being his usual naughty self. Yesterday I was ironing a sheet, and pulled it up to fold, thought it was a bit heavy and there he was swinging on the end of it.

I've got a lot of Maureen Lee books Sheila, must have a look and see if I have the one you mentioned. The bookcase is stuffed with books, I am a slow reader and my daughter and a friend pass all their read books to me, for everyone I read I get about five more in its place.

Hi Maureen ,Mel ,Amanda I am like a moaning minnie today I mentoned I had my hair conditioned in Stratford well it would not lie down sticking up all over my head and I am going out. So I had to phone up a lady whoes got a mobile hairdressing business and she popped in and re cut it she said it needs perming and heres me moaning and sending photoes of my permed hair when young but she is right. So I booked for a perm next week a light one no friz and colour the week after and highlights the week after that so if I am not broke I may be bald lol haha . Anway will look nice Amanda while eating the snails or frogs legs . I showed my friend your picture of you in your pool she said what a good idea .Its a pity the summer was so short again for you .I would have loved a swim in that pool.

Maureen do give that book a read if you can its really nice. I think little Alfie is a very lucky little cat and sounds really happy.
In Stratford I saw a squirrel chasing a black bird never saw that before they are timid kind of creatures but he really chased that bird.
Your mum Mel sounds like my younger daughter I said to her today by phone when did you eat last and she said this morning I said what and she said a turkish delight bar and nothing yesterday or the day before just fed April I miss Matt.
I do not know what to say to her I get so annoyed . Well with my new hair style and my fairly new jumper bright red in colour I may get out tonight shall just have time to enter the cottage and it will be out to dinner. My ho bought Annie a lipstick she wanted I said you never get me lipsticks he said well you said you have no lips at your age you need some of that colgate I said thats tooth paste not for your lips. you mean collegen he said oh thats it does it seal your lips together. may shut you up for once. I may spike his drink. Well everyone is ready for the off now so we will be on our way at last. xx

I like Maureen Lee books too.I have read several of hers.I bought Paul O'Grady's new one yesterday and am enjoying it.I keep chuckling .The only problem is it is a hardback and isn't easy to read in bed
Maureen I meant to ask how Alfie got on staying with your son (or was it daughter?Did he cause havoc ?
I used to love Nigel Kennedy .Haven't seen him in a while.I did see Vanessa Mae when she was 14,just as she was hitting the big time. She was amazing. She hadn't gone all electric and just played her normal violin then.
I played the violin for a little while at senior school.I wasn't too successful lol

Evening All,

OH has just popped out to his first custody visitor training just as the heavens opened and thunder rumbled. He'll be soaked as there is a good walk from the car park to the police station. This afternoon we went to the latest NHS BehealthyBeheard meeting. It had speakers about different kinds of dementia, arthritis and parkinsons this time. Very interesting and informative. I never knew people with dementia may have visual problems and the clutter of a patterned carpet may look like uneveness or steps to them so plain is best. Things like that. BTW Jane......we also got a free pair of slippers each!!!! lol

Frank, you are getting too well aquainted with your porcelain friend lately!!! I hope you are on the mend now, but you must feel like you've been through the mangle so TAKE IT EASY for a few days!! Sheila too....it must be a bug going around.

CatieI Report 23 Sep 2010 18:45

So you tracked me down this afternoon Mel :). What a great help MaureenNY was - she sent me articles detailing the divorce. Another family scandal for the family album lol

I was interested to learn that all you mums had experienced that 'panic', I felt earlier on. Such a horrid feeling, and Sheila I can understand why you would have called that ambulance.

Sheila.... I bet the 'Green Room', was interesting at times lol
Jane... Nigel Kennedy lives in Poland now and although he performs on the classical scene, he is also a very good jazz violinist and is involved with that too. I think he's amazing.

Happy Birthday Ellen. Wishing you good health and happiness

Catie ,I hope little Mark has another full nights sleep tonight .Maybe this will now be his routine. It still gives me the shivers when I remember that panicky feeling I had .
I wonder why Nigel Kennedy has decided to live in Poland? It seems a strange country to choose.I love violins.I remember years ago when I was young Dad bought an LP of Gypsy violin music. It was very fast and very exciting music.I thought it was brilliant.
Fitz has gone to Birmingham to a concert/opera tonight. It is 5and a half hours long!!!!!!!!( I think he said 5 and a half).Something to do with Wagner/Vagner.(I don't know the right spelling). He said it is supposed to be very sensual !!

CatieI

CatieI Report 23 Sep 2010 19:25

Jane....I think he is now married to a Polish girl and finds the constraints of the classical scene in this country, a little too much. It can be a bit snobby lol
Hope Fitz enjoys the concert :)

She's a little toughty at the best of times but her knee pain is really getting to he.
She has to wait until Monday morning for an X ray then who knows how long after that.
No consolation when your'e in pain.
The anti inflaitory tablets are upsetting her stomache

Hope the knee will e alright soon.

Maureen

Maureen Report 23 Sep 2010 20:30

oooooh Ann I'm very impressed with your technical lingo, tamping, which I called raking the cement, and hardcore, which I called smashed up bricks and stones !!!!!!!! I can see the two of us on a building site, you as the foreman and me as the labourer ....lol

Little Alfie is sitting on the computer table. He does this a lot then starts walking round the back of the screen and quite often disappears ..... he falls down the back ..... I just leave him now and he always finds his way out. He is a little monster, and when he bites and scratches me I shout at him "IF IT WASN'T FOR ME YOU'D BE DEAD"

Go for it Sheila, I can't think of anything else to make you feel good than a new hairdo. I've just had my haircut, luckily my friend's daughter qualified from college and comes round and does my hair for £20.
she's very young; 21 so hopefully gives me a not too young style but not a granny look either, my girls always tell me not to have my hair cut above my jaw line. I will bow to their youthful knowledge !!!!!

David, hope Ellen is feeling well and had a happy birthday.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Sep 2010 09:59

It must have been that full moon that kept me awake.

Frank glad your feeling a bit better and hope you had a better night withpout keeping the white friend company.

I meant to say about the moon yesterday as it was huge when I went to shut the chickens in.
