You old romantic, JANE, but at your age you have to have your memories LOL

I had to confess to Ros as she could see that I wasn't right. I was stooped over with the pain in my left hand side. My ribs and kidney feel quite sore at the moment, nothing broked I am sure, but very sore. Ros is very cross with me, for trying to do all these jobs, but as much as I drop hints, the boys just don't seem to bother.

Have you sorted your problems with the pooter now Jane.

Mel, I trust Mum is still making progress, and eating a little more.

How are the children, Catie, Well I hope, I bet you are beginning to see a difference in little Mark, they soon start to change within a few weeks of birth. I trust BIL is getting things together in his mind. Give him our regards.

Where's Mandy, Shirley, Ann and uncle Tom Cobley and All, David is very noticeable by his absence. !!!

Evening all
Had a busy day, finished of some cleaning, washed kitchen floor, did exercises, then had lunch, then daughter no 1 & Sofia came down and we went shopping then daughter went off to her new job, gave Sofia her tea about 4.30, Scrambled egg & toast, yoguart and a few grapes., she eat the lot, then we played about till SIL came in at 6.00 & OH came in at 6.20
SIL stayed for dinner, daughter no2 & Boyfriend arrived and we all sat down , Sofia then had potato & some vegtables. & OH drove SIL home, and I can now relax, thinking of going for a nice bath , It will be good when daughter gets her car on Saturday, says SIL he had forgot what it was like to have to wait for buses and trains.

Daughter won't get home till 10.00 to night so will have to wait till tomorrow to find out how her work went.

off for my bath.

Frank.... Ros will have to chain you up to keep you out of mischief lol
The children are well, thank you. Mark is now drinking more at one go - so less time consuming lol. He's putting on weight and I'm losing it. This lot keep me on the go lol
BIL's GP called out of the blue to see him. BIL was out on a bike ride with my OH. So he sat and had a chat with me instead. It was his half day and he had taken the trouble to call - thought that really kind. He told me that he understood my BIL's situation as some years ago he had lost his own wife, leaving him with two young sons. He apparently built an annexe and his mum came to live with him. He never re-married and his eldest son is now studying to become a doctor. We had a lovely chat and ended up talking about classical music... His passion apparently lol

Hi Fiona, Just seen your post. Gosh, Sophia really has a good appetite and sounds like she keeps you on your toes lol

Jane

Jane Report 21 Sep 2010 21:41

Catie ,it probably did you good to have a good chat with your BIL's GP,especially with him having been in a similar situation in the past.
There is one important thing I have been thinking about ,and that is do you have time for yourself and your OH?.You have taken on such a stressful roll (suddenly)out of the blue.

Fiona ,Sofia obviously loves her food lol. That is good ,as there is nothing worse than a fussy baby !!!.I know ,been there ,done that and got the T Shirt for the Fussiest Children lol

Frank I think Ros will have to set up CCTV to see what you are up to when she is out !!

I am signing off now for the night
See you all again tomorrow.Night Night xx

Frank you are a naughty naughty boy doing things when you know Ros is out. Men!!! you can never be told can you...............................

Fiona glad everything is working well now for your family and your daughter will enjoy her new job.

Wall to Wall sunshine here,

Must tell you. I fell out of BED at 3.30 this morning, bang my head on the waldrobe glass door, not broken it. Ros never heard a thing. I was able to crawl back, and got into the middle, so I wouldn't do it again !!!!!

Rutland son has just Skyped us, and want us to go up for the day, So I don't think it will be shorts and bare chest, I can't go for a pint looking like that.

Have a good day everyone, see you later.

Hi Everyone,

Glorious sun and more work to do in the garden today. Can't do much at a time as those granite rocks are heavy!!

Bad news with my MOT.......garage still have the car as it is too dangerous to drive!!!! A front spring has sheared and one sharp end is about to pierce the tyre and the other sharp end in position to pierce a brake pipe!! Because they are front springs they need to be equally balanced so will need 2 so not much change out of £300!! Frank would say MORE MONEY. Terry at the garage said road humps usually cause this. I am careful as a rule as my car is quite low to the ground, but recently when were went walking around watermead reserve OH told me to drive on through a little car park to turn around rather than turn round in the road which is what I started to do. Silly me listened to him and although we'd already driven gently over lots of humps around the reserve, the one into this little car park was deceptively steep with a sheer drop the other side and there was a bit of a bang and scrape. I thought had got away with it as there were no oil drips and the car drove ok. I remember Mel's OH had a spring break the day we called on her.

Those African Grey have lots of 'attitude'..... I love them.

Annx Report 22 Sep 2010 14:34

Frank, maybe you should wear a crash helmet to bed......just in case!! Ros doesn't know the half of it does she..........we won't tell....promise......if you are VERY NICE to us!! lol

Going off for a walk now with my camera along the canal with OH. It is nice having him around to walk with in the day......we can go places I wouldn't dare walk on my own.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Sep 2010 14:48

Yes OH broke a spring on his car in a pothole in the road. We still have loads of potholes round here. They seem to only have filled in some of them. Next they will be saying it's to cold or wet or icy to do them!!!

What a nuisance about the car but just as well it needed it's MOT otherwise you may have been driving around in an unsafe car ad had an accident.

Hope you enjoyed your walk Ann.

Frank I hope you did'nt break your head or the mirror door. what are you like eh? not even safe when you are in bed!

A beautiful day here and we were able to enjoy a lovely picnic by the water - so peaceful.

Sorry to hear about the problems with your car Ann - but at least you are safe.

Frank....I will have to find a four leaf clover to send to you lol One accident after another. Good job Ros doesn't know the half of it - her nerves would be in tatters. Thank you for all the jokes - loved the excerpts from Council letters :)

Jane... Thank you for your concern. At the moment our focus is helping the family move forward without Nicky. It's been tough for them. My father retires at the end of the month and my parents are going to give us a hand. My father is a Hospital Consultant and experienced in helping the bereaved - so his help will be invaluable and will take the pressure off us a little.

Well, I'm off now to take the girls swimming. That should be fun lol

Hi everyone!.The film was a bit Cheesy(if that's the right expression). It was very predictable ,but I did quite enjoy it.Lovely to see some parts of Italy that I have been.
Fitz and I then came back to mine for a bite of lunch and we just rabbited on about Italy lol

Catie ...a picnic by the water sounds wonderful.Just the perfect day for it.
How lucky your Dad will be able to help the family. There are so many different emotions to do with bereavment .He will be so much help to your BIL I'm sure. Are you swimming with the girls, or do they go to a class?

Ann ,what a blow about your MOT.I bet it WAS those POTHOLES ,like you say.

Now FRANK!! What are we going to do with you???? I think that is 3 things this week .So hopefully no more falls ,bumps etc lol

I'm sorry Mel and Fiona are not having good weather. We are basking in sun lolol. Not that I'm bragging of course !

Beautiful sunny day here too but I've been ironing all day, just finished. Hope you managed to have lunch in the garden Jane it might be the last chance we get, supposed to be rain tomorrow and going down to 16/17 degrees.

Still working hard in son's garden, I think I could get a job on a building site. Son was doing a concrete base for the shed, he was throwing sand and cement in the mixer and pouring it out and muggings was raking it all over the bricks and stones that he had broken up, it's called something but I can't remember !!! Really hard work, I got a black man's pinch (am I allowed to say that !!!!!) on my hand and completely splattered with cement. I said I couldn't reach the new lot he poured in and he said just step in it, I thought, better not stand still for too long or I'll be set in concrete, might make an interesting garden feature though !!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 22 Sep 2010 16:29

Monument de Maureen!!!!!!.That would be interesting lol

Afternoon all
Has rained all day but is warm and so clammy by the time I got to the coffee shop I was so hot and sticky, It didn't help matters that when I opened the door to go in I was met with a rush of heat, heat from the kitchens it was roasting, they where making soup and other hot food for the lunch time rush so the ovens were on full.
I still enjoyed my hot chocolate though.

Daughter no 1 phoned she had a good time at work yesterday. not alot of time on the phone, spent the evening with another lady learning the job ,
But said she had enjoyed the break from Sofia , she was happy to know Sofia was ok and that her dad would have to put her to bed.

well while I'm on the computer need to do a bit of tidying up on paperwork and reply to e-mails.

Sheila Report 22 Sep 2010 16:58

Hi I hope everyone is ok .I have just arrived home to take Jasper for his injection and to do a few bits of housework for my ho. Annie is most disapointed her Andreu Rieu concert was cancelled due to a Vesticlour nerve infection virus the poor mans got. I think she was upset due to the fact she argued with her sister over the concert .Annies sister Lara wanted to see Andreu also but could not afford
£105 pound settled for sitting elsewhere for £95 and they were looking forward to it. I was asked to go but I could not afford those prices. Annie said she cancelled next year she is planning on going to on a save the seal campaign shes very much into that kind of thing. It was tigers two years ago and she went to Africa.

I had some very rude jokes on my computor but not a novel
yet Frank. I may buy myself a couple of that ladies books
I read a book at Annies called The Girl From Barefoot House by Maureen Lee and its so sad about a small girl
who is sent to live with a misrable aunt in Liverpool during the war in Barefoot House. It was a gift from Annie to cheer me up and I cried buckets.
Annie said she feels so strongly Catie for your BIL Annies
husband Marcus was killed five years ago coming home from work to Cheam in Surrey from the city and Annie was so distraught she lost her baby . Now she finds strength to go on by painting in oils and she works doing landscape gardening . Having a break from all that she was
fifty three today and we are going celebrating tonight at a
French Restaurant we even ordered a bottle of wine with our dinner. We have been drinking water.

Catie the memorial garden is a wonderful idea nice for the
twins to help and do something for mummie . You seem to be doing a great job with them. I hope baby Mark is progressing nicely. Annie said you never get over loosing a wife or husband you just get used to it after a time and get on with life but the awful pain eases .
I bet your dad will help .I know what days by the water are like here .I was having a nervous breakdown I realise that now and since I have been away from all the hussle and bussle of Birmingham have felt so much better. I sat by the River Severn in Stratford yesterday reading my book while Annie sketched people around us. I christened a painting she did of a man who came just out of her head and called him Basil .Annie said fine whoes Basil and I said Basil Brush she said hold on a minute he is a fox I said yes but you painted him with a brush. Her no comment made me realise what she thought of that.

Beryl came out with Donnie what a laugh .Annie is so
sweet and polite Beryl never said one word and Donnie
got a punch in the ribs everytime he went to open his mouth.

What was Frank doing falling out of bed perhaps dreaming
of one of his jokes I have had. Jane Jasper is suffering like Toby he seems to have a musle or something in his leg socket that keeps moving and making him yelp he holds his poor up and the vet said he may need a operation talking about a lot of money I am glad I have that pet insurance I have not used yet and it is common in Cairns.

Well I do not know who said I am having a second holiday
Wales was heavy going work wise and Stratford is also
I have helped with Annies garden and painted a wall outside near the dovecot and re potted her plants and we
did a Niggley Nellie and drove Mrs Darwin Lewis to a market in her pony and trap the lady fell and broke her wrist
we had to brush and comb her horse and muck out the stable .I am learning about country life.

Matt my son in law had a operation for slight bleeding
and was very lucky he had to have his hair shaved off and April his little girl said daddy looks funny on the phone
Jessica was crying and upsetting herself it is her illness
the schizophrenia from the past makes her so panicky and she stops eating. I said to Michelle my other daughter who is in Tunisia Mardia now having found Jerba so hot. what shall I do and she said leave them to it mum you have had enough worry. So I did. I hope I have done right. Well I may
be home at the end of the week I am running out of money
I like to pay my share. thank you so much for all your thoughts hello to Jane Maureen and Amanda Mel
Elizabeth how is your huband.xx Catie keep up the good
work. Sorry this is so long. hope I do not bore you to death. Love to all from Sheila. xxx Kisses to Shirl from Jasper and me.

We too will be missing Andre Rieu at Birmingham tomorrow Sheila. Apparently he is said to be heartbroken at disappointing his fans, but it sounds like a nasty viral illness affecting balance. First that, then my car, what will be the 3rd thing?? You really are learning about country life aren't you and keeping very busy. I bet Annie is chuffed at what you have been helping with.

Catie your BIL sounds like he has a very caring doctor, nice of him to have a chat with you. You have been a real star for your BIL stepping in like you have. I have nothing but admiration for you.

Good you daughter is getting into the swing of things Fiona and it must help her knowing Sofia is in good hands.

Maureen, sounds like you are up to your neck in your sons garden like we are in ours. lol So you've been tamping the concrete over the hardcore for the shed......treading in it will get all the air bubbles out which is good.....as long as you don't overbalance!!!! We are building big piles of gravel and soil at the moment while we rearrange things.......pots and pots of rescued plants to water .....there are moments when you wonder why you started!! Still it will be worth it!!

Some films you just have to see don't you Jane to know if you like them. We are hoping to go and see the new Robin Williams film, The World's greatest dad on friday.
