Evening all,

Trust you are all well, and not growing webbed feet.!!!

Jane how did the BBQ go. We have had a heavy shower here in the last 15 minutes. Lets hope you were lucky and missed it. Mini Glastonbury tonight. are you going along for a FIx or Two, or bury your head under the pillows?

What about Hopalong Cassidy and Gabby Hayes. Tonto.!!! "Hey oh silver" who ever that was.

Are you back from your wandering Shirl ?? What's up with the kettle ????

New hairdryer Do you all remember the big hooded ones, and the ones with a plastic bonnet ,you attached to the hand dryer.??. They used to smell as they got hot.

Just got back with the Takeaway. I don't want anything tonight, still got upset tummy. Might have a sandwhich later.

My Dad would have been 124 tomorrow. He's been dead 52 years now. I wonder what he would have to say, the way the world has changed, over the last 50 years.

I see my old West Ham lost again today. I think after 67 years I should be thinking about changing to a team that wins more games, but then again I think it's too late for change.!!!!

Well ,I posted a long spiel and it has blo**y disappeared lol
So a shortened version .................BBQ went really well. The rain held off until the candles on the cake were just a bout to be lit.We all legged indoors. It was a lovely surprise for Norma. It was great hiding then seeing her face as she walked in .

Hannah's interview went well ,but the problem is the travelling.I think she would have got the job had it not been the travelling probs. But she was told to expect a call from a Clinical Psychologist on the panel.looking for someone like
Hannah in Brixton!!!! She apparently interviewed very well. Not sure I would be happy with her working with addicts in Brixton. But she would be up for it.I am just being Mum!!

Evening all
Talking of daughters trying to get jobs , daughter no 1 wants a part time job and has been looking for the last few months with no sucsess , she rang me tonight to ask how I would feel about baby sitting Sofia , she wanted to apply for a couple of jobs but wanted to know what hours I would baby sit for. I have to watch what I am doing as I don't want to over do things with my back and get to tired.

The 2 jobs were.
no1 job - Tuesday & Thursday afternoons 4-6pm , no problem I said.
No2 Job - every afternoon from 4- 6, said I would think that would be ok if it was local, if it wasn't local that would mean Sofia could still be here at bed time which is around 7-7.30 which is not that great if it was every night of the week.

anyway we will just have to see how it goes ,
I'm going now want to have a shower and sort out clothes for church tomorrow.
Night ,night all.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Aug 2010 09:42

Morning All,

I had a busy day yesterday. OH told me to get off pooter in the morning so I did as I was told for once!!

It then rained for most of the day so I did the dreaded housework!! Still have'nt got the ironing pile down though.

I was in love with Hopalong Cassidy when I was small. I even had him and his horse in a lead toy. He could be taken off his horse which fasinated me at the time but if you wanted to make him walk anywhere he did it in a very bandy way!! Lol......

It is much brighter here this morning but misty with it. one of those misty moisty morning. We have had all the fairy hammocks in the box hedge this morning.

Our friend came and took the cement mixer away yesterday, which we borrowed to do the pond.

The blimmin blackbird is still getting in the tunnel and eating my tomatoes just as they ripen. It had even got one on the floor yesterday. I have to pick them when not quite ripe otherwise he just pecks into them.

Morning Mel and all
What a beautiful morning.Lovely blue sky and just a few fluffy clouds. It is shorts day for me.
Cheeky blackbird Mel.He will get a tummy ache if he eats all your toms.
I am goung to have a look at the runner beans now and see if I can pick a load for dinner.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Aug 2010 11:23

If he ate all my toms he would'nt be able to fly!!! Especially the Big Boy ones. They are as big as the palm of my hand.

Had my cereal on the decking this morning whilst OH fed the fish. The sun was really hot on my right side of my face.

OH has cut the grass beyond the pond but said it was too wet!

Jane

Jane Report 22 Aug 2010 12:19

We are being smoked out at the moment from next door. All the kids must have a fire going, and I just put washing out!!!!!!.How nice to be able to sit out on your decking now and have brekkie Mel.
Chris has just put the canopy back on the gazebo,so lets hope we don't get anymore high winds.

Shirl I loved that email lol

Ain't it nice to see the sun shine. Was clear blue skys earlier, now clouding over.

Roast dinner all ready for the oven. Doing roast pots today for a change, We will eat about 4.30.
Been in my shorts since I got up Jane. I have loads of Tesc# pyjama shorts which I use as shorts, they are so light and 100% cotton so easy to wash as well.Got those when I was in hospital with my stroke, as I didn't have any pyjamas, NEVER WORN THEM.

Afternoon all,

Lovely and sunny here ,we sat out this morning ,the church bells were ringing away as we had our coffee, they ring for about half an hour and then its the church service so they stop.
We're having roast Chicken today ,got the family coming ,bet they say we could have had a BBQ !!
Have also turned the heater on for the Spa ,might have a dip later this afternoon.
I think parts of the country should have high winds and heavy rain later tonight !!! hope its not over our way .

Jane

Jane Report 22 Aug 2010 12:34

Frank I hope you are not flashing anything at the front in those JimJam shorts. They don't normally have buttons on the fly bit do they?
I am watching Matthew Pincent(I think it is Pincent) on Who do you think you are. It's fascinating.
Getting a bit cloudy here too,but still nice.
