Harpstrings Report 18 May 2009 20:34

I can only sleep on my left side, if I move over to my right side it is extremely painful and I cannot breathe. I can only get into bed one way too, because of only sleeping on the left-hand side.
If I tried getting into bed the other side, would probably end up flat on my back on the floor ! lolol

Oh dear, talk about weird! lol

Changing the subject now. As Pam mentioned an artists name last night, I gooled the artist and came up with the london art website. I therefore had a browse and one artist is absolutely brilliant at painting flowers.

His name is Heusher. Have a nosey, if i could paint like that........

The best thing we ever bought is our memory mattress, It's fantastic soooooo comfortable you just don't want to get out of bed in the morning.
I had alot of pain in lower back ,shoulders & kneck, went to a local Holistic clinic for treatment, I said I thought it was down to to much lifting and carrying big tables and chairs, plus children toys at work,
The doctor asked me if I ever had an accident, like jarring my back. I told her that about 5 years ago while holidaying in Greece, I was climbing rocks when i slipped anf fell on my coxic bone, she says that could be the reason for my sore back or when I had my children did i have an epidural, yes I did back in 1980 with daughter no 1.
Woman who have had epidural's can also experience a lot of back pain due to the numbing of the spinal nerve.
anyway after we got our mattress my back was much improved.

Why is it that men always sleep so well and for hours and hours even when they have had a few pints! It is so not fair. They must have bladders the size of elephants!

LOL

Well I'm going down stairs now to make a bed time drink and then climb upstairs into bed on my comfy mattress to read my book, hope I don't have any nightmares about Motorways or toilets, better make sure both my toilets, upstairs & down are fastened tight to the floor.

Hope we all have Sweet Dreams, and not nightmares.

Morning all
really what a cheek taking your sand ,Family searcher,
my dad was a builder(Self enployed) shortly before he retired. and all his customers mainly the elderly were for ever praising him as after a job he would always clean up. sweep ,hoover , I've even known him to do a bit of polishing for one old dear, most workmen leave a right old mess behind them.

Talking about dad.
Last night I had just got comfortable in bed , I had read a bit of my book and OH was starting to snore, must have been about 10.30, when the phone goes, I hate unexpected phone calls at night I always think something is wrong with my two girls.
Anyway it was the elderly lady who lives across the road from my dad.
say's she has been watching dad since 9.30, lights in the house have been switching on and off, then at 10.00 the front door opens and dads there with his hat and coat on standing on the door step.
then walks down the drive stands on the pavement and looks up and down, and then walks back up to the front door. has been doing this several times.
so after OH puts the phone down I am up out of bed and I phone dad
"where have you been dad, have you got your coat on" Dad replies " yes I have been outside the bus has not come" I then realise dad think it's 10.00 in the morning not at night,
he is waiting for the day care bus." No dad it's bedtime , It's not in the morning it's dark outside" Dad say's " Oh I'm all in a muddle" so I tell him to put the chain on the front door , put the lights out and go upstairs to bed ok he say's
I then rang the lady back and tell her dads alright now he's gone to bed. and thank you for ringing "yes she say's his lights have gone out now.
took me a while to settle back to sleep.

Morning All'

Fiona what a lovely neighbour your dad has, and what a worry for you as well, poor old dad he must be in a muddle, I can see your having to keep an eye on him 24/7 now. poor you...

Now on about dreams.......yesterday I ran out of Garlic bread for our pasta.
DREAM...
I seemed the have lugged home from a certain shop, not a packet ,but a Black bin load of Garlic bread.....I managed to get it to my car but had to get help from a man sat reading his newspaper in his car ...!!!

Oh well must dream about fairy's making the beds now...!!

Jane

Jane Report 19 May 2009 10:17

Oh Fiona I think the sooner you can find Dad a nice home the better. This kind of thing will happen more often. At least you have someone who is watching the house LOL

No exciting dreams last night ,they were strange but so mixed up I wouldn't know where to begin !!!!!

Fiona

Fiona Report 19 May 2009 11:56

Just another event to add to the list bringing the time for dad to go into 24 hr care closer. Yes Jane , the People who live beside dad are very good at keeping an eye on him
I'm having a relaxing day to day , going to potter around the house and catch up on a few jobs,
I off out tonight to my friends house she is having a mock auction, a few of us ladies get together once a year and bring any unwanted gifts, household items we don't want anymore and auction them off for charity, its a good way to catch up with each others news, have a cup of tea and a bite of supper , also spend some money , some times you can find the odd birthday pressie ,
I usually come home with aload of books to read.
any items that don't get sold are delivered to a local charity shop and we then decided which charity our host will send the money to.
