Hi Jean,I'm glad your OH has mellowed. At least you have some nice people nearby to chat to .I think men can just be SO difficult sometimes.

Jane Report 10 Jul 2009 19:59

It is my btm Lorraine that is painful.Where the sciatic nerve runs down .If I sneeze ,or laugh or cough I have to hang on to the right buttock LOL
Lorraine my OH's moods are mainly to do with work.I just look at him when he comes through the front door and know what kind of evening it will be !!!!!!!!
Some people think Doctors are rubbish ,but when you think of some of the things they have to deal with on a daily basis I can understand they might not want to be too talkative.I let mine work it out and am there if and when he tells me why he is like that.He hates me asking 'what is the problem'.After 28 years I have learned to keep shtum(sp) until he is ready to talk.

My OH has been quite unsociable over the years, but we are blessed with some very talkative ladies in this street, and in the 14yrs we've been here he has mellowed. He also seems less inclined to snap at me since he has been unwell, maybe realises that I am all he's got!

Well ....I was sure I posted on here this morning, but it looks like I was just imagining it!!.So afternoon Ladies.Haven't done a lot today as I have been more comfortable lying down on the settee.
Pam ,I'm glad your problem seems to have sorted now.I thought I heard a huge rumble earlier and thought it might have been coming from your direction LOL
I hope your poor hubby cheers up.Mine goes through stages of being miserable.I ignore him then until he comes round.

Hello ladies and so nice to see Christine back with us. Sorry to hear about you hubby Christine, hope it gets sorted quickly.

My hubby has an appointment at the hospital on the 11th august, his dentist told him he has 'smokers keratosis', my husband thinks he's only got a few months left now!! However he is still smoking just as heavy, when I pointed this fact out to him, he replied "Well if I've not got long i might as well enjoy myself". Oh dear I truly despair at times...words fail me. Enjoy himself? Gawd he very rarely smiles as it is nowadays...what is it with old blokes, i'm not like that and I'm sure you ladies aren't either, i have some nice friends and try to enjoy life and be ever optomistic, but we're all different i guess. Remember we went to a wedding last month, well as we were leaving and saying our goodbyes to the happy couple my husband says "I just hope you're as happy as Pam and I have been". When we got in the car I said to him "Why did you say that...I thought you liked them!" Anyway enough about old misery bol*ocks!

Good news the pain in my stomach has gone!! Hey I'm so pleased...and no Jane...i didn't have an accident!! LOL LOL LOL

Myself son and son's girlfriend are off to a 40th birthday bash tomorrow evening, misery guts can't come as he 's on call from work...gutted! (oh I am naughty)

Speak soon

Pam.

You are having a bad time AB, hope they find out what's wrong with your husband soon. It must be worrying for you both.

It is sad and not really acceptable that doctors are being abused and assaulted these days, but with drug addiction there are bound to be a lot of desperate people. The 24 hour drink culture causes massive problems for the police, doctors and nurses in A & E as well as the ambulance staff. Then of course the mentally ill have been the cause of more problems since 'care in the community' replaced a lot of the hospitals. They can be a bit odd, sometimes caused by their medication and suffer terrible physical and verbal abuse from our uncaring society, often young people who do not understand. Because of human rights, even their families are not listened to so they have to be unwell enough to be sectionned before they are helped which may be too late in saving some innocent person from harm. Things need to change for everyone's sake don't they. My mother used to run a small home for day patients at a mental hospital.......one lady had spent most of her life in Broadmoor in times when they put you inside for just having a breakdown......she never gave any cause for concern, but just couldn't cope in the outside world without a 'mother' figure, but then could any of us after spending 30 years in an institution like that?

Christine, hope you are getting over your aches and pains. There does come a time when you have to admit that things have to change if you are going to be able to cope without problems. We had our small steep front garden levelled and shingled, with just a border at the front. Now we only have the back garden whish is well established and takes very little work except the prunung.
I am in the same boat as you, with a poorly OH that no-one seems to find the exact problem, though they do admit he isnt well.

Jane

Jane Report 9 Jul 2009 18:14

Crumbs Christine ,sounds like you have had a right old time lately. But is good to see you back again.Where do you live? I only ask as you talk about the back yard ,not garden.

Daughter no 1 has been down to visit for a couple of hours this afternoon.
we just sat there and chatted about how tired she was and hoped that now the cooler weather is back that she will sleep easier.

looks like rain but nothing has come of it yet.
your poor friend Jane must be feeling low, one funeral is sad but to lose 2 friends near each other must be very hard.
I'm sure she went away feeling much better after your friendly get together
It's good to have a another friend to cheer you up.

Afternoon Ladies,
Oh my,I just read Pam and Andrews Liver salts, and possible outcome LOL

Pam you must let us know the reults.I don't think i would like to be in your house when you explode lol

Have been out to lunch with a friend who has had to go the funerals of 2 of her friends in the last few days.Poor thing has found it very hard.Anyway we had a good natter and a few laughs. So I hope she feels a bit brighter now.

Morning ladies, hope you're all ok, it's very quiet on here!

Still got pain in tummy, aspecially first thing but seems to get slightly better when I'm up and about, possibly a ghastric thing.

Back later,

Pam.

Hi Jane, yes I'm beginning to think it could be to do with my back, as Lorraine said, possibly to do with the pain in my lower back. Although on the advice of my cousin Frank who apparantly had a pain like this earlier in the year, I should buy some Andrews Liver Salts...so will get some tomorrow...I may do one enormous great f*rt and be back to normal...or poop my knickers!!

Seriously though just lately I'm beginning to feel really OLD!

My OH would Roll his eyes if he read our thread lolWomen!!!! he would say.
Hazel I think your problem is hormonal, sounds like it anyway.
Pam you don't think you sat/slept awkwardly because of your back do you,and that caused the pain in your side......or WIND lol. I used to get Ovary pain at ovulation time in that area.Did it feel like that?If you know what I mean.
I'm glad it is easier now.
Poor old dears aren't we !!!!!

☼ Pam ☼ Report 8 Jul 2009 15:22

Hi ladies, thanks for the advice Lorraine, I do feel slightly better than I did so let's hope it better by tomorrow and I guess it could be connected to that back pain. What would I do without this thread, it's just nice to talk it over with someone!

Hazel, it sounds like the change, but hope that you feel better soon, not nice feeling giddy and faint.

What a mob we are!

Speak later
