Men get away so lightly don't they. With all you mentioned EB,plus our smears and mammograms having the life squeezed out of our poor boobs.
I do think my flushes are getting less(Holds Breath) lol.But I always have a fan close by just in case, and my magicool spray.

am still unsure about HRT.One friend said she swore by it(came off last year after 11 years on it) said she would have stayed on it except her BP was too high.
Another friend says her sister had breast cancer and it was blamed on the HRT she was taking.
sheesh, isn't it enough with all the period/cramps,morning sickness and labour pains? Us poor women do seem to have a raw deal

I was extremely lucky and had no menopausal symptoms after my hysterectomy at age 47, But at 75, I am finding I do get the occasional hot flush, and erratic temper!

Hello girls, phew it's another hot one here in north Norfolk!

Jean I have put on a bit of weight lately and I find myself gazing out oif the window with an empty head, no thoughts atall at times!! I just put that down to the change though.I'm wondering though of it's a 'family thing' having an under active thyroid...as far as I know there's been no one in my family with this condition...having said that perhaps they were never tested for it. I'll let you know.
I'm working a night shift tonight and tomorrow....wow it's going to be hot!!

Have a lovely week end all of you.....

Pam.

Hello everyone,
some of you may have seen my thread on chat recently about fibroids. Well as a result of having them, I am now 23 days post op after having a hysterectomy, and am now going through a surgically induced menopause. I am due to go to dr's in 3 weeks to discuss HRT. They removed everything, and have started having flushes during the day, ( no night sweats yet).
I haven't read all of the thread yet, but will be over the next few days to get any hints and tips.

Pam, I have an underactive thyroid, and apart from putting on weight, I found I was getting slow in behaviour and thought, and felt so much better when I was put on Thyroxine. I am just not sure the higher dose I was put on 6 months ago is suiting me.,I did lose 7lbs in weight though.

Hi all. went to see my doctor, he said he would prescribe HRT if I wanted it...but I'm going to think about it.
I'm having a blood test done on the 18th with regard to maybe having an underactive thryoid...I don't think i will have as it's not in the family...anyone know anything about this condition?
Pam.
PS he said this could possibly be the cause of me putting weight around my middle...

I am wondering if my thyroid medication is too high, I have been so tense that it feels uncomfortable, and there is no reason to be.

My poor OH said he has suffered for 21 years!!

I will google the recipe for HRT cake. We have a health food shop in our town so I will give it a try.

I can check the thread as well for tips. I am 47 now so maybe a few years to go. Monthlies are sadly as regular as clockwork every 28 days.

Thankyou for your advice. I will txt sister and sister in law being fellow sufferers.

Teresa:)

Not in the change yet but have suffered since age of 12 with monthly pian and PMS food cravings and grrrrrs

Does it follow that with difficult monthlies the change will be as bad.?

My Mum had a hysterectomy when I was 10 so didnt talk about it and ma-in-law had a hysterectomy at 50 and has been on HRT for 20 years. Her GP did try and get her off it but she had such problems with joint pain she asked to go back on and the pain settled.
