Fantastic news Sylvia - I am sure you would rather swallow a tablet or two for a few years than have radiotherapy for a few months.
Josie - you sound brighter on this visit - congratulations on breaking down a brick wall - its great satisfaction
I need a sledge hammer for a few of mine - one day when I get more time - mind you - OH has got the bug now for brickwalls & spends more time than I do trying to knock them down. He gets all excited - gets me to check it out & then we are both deflated as he has follwed the wrong lead - at least he tries hard & once or twice has succeeded.
Sally nice to see you again - hope you ahd a good time at the garden centre.
Robert - you are so asking for trouble - Sylvia is better now so a good swing of the rollingpin will do her good - part of her exercise regime * I am sure Cynthia will join in. i agree with Josie - a bit of a dark horse is our Robert.
Well its dark & chilly - and wet again - making the most of the OT at the moment.
Better go - will catch up later - can't pop in lunchtime as being taken out to lunch by one of the managers in London - may get some work out of it.
Love & hugs to Reece & Evelyn - hope youa re both keeping well & in good spirits (not the kind Robert drinks either) ((((((~~~~~~~~~~))))))
Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

You are a sly one.. Robert..... hiding out in your shell, making out that you are delicate and frightened by us Ladies.
When in fact you have been hiding in Frank's shadow all this time, lulling us in to a False sense of security. The Rolling Pins may have to come out mothballs :-D ;-)
At last the Temps are going up been between 17-20C over the last week as well as plenty of Sun. Sorry to hear that the weather is miserable everywhere else.
After slogging away for the last 2 weeks in My Tree revisiting and further researching some of my problematic Ancestors, coping with 'Genes' problems which included locking me out of my Tree.
I broke through one of my major Brick walls, after spending 7 years trying to find the elusive Frank Cross my Great Grandmother's first husband and 2 children from that marriage. I discovered with the help of a lady called Jackie on this site. That Frank and the 2 children were in fact figments of my Grandfather's imagination. Frank turned out to be Abraham and died aged 22 a year after marrying Great Grandma. Allowing for the birth of only 1 child not 3 as my Grandfather wrote down. While elated at the breakthrough I feel a little sad though. He was a Coal Miner and would have died in the Mine. I watched one of those 'who do you think you are' programmes on TV a year or so ago and learnt about the horrendous conditions the miners worked under.
I never knew this man, we are not related other than that he married Great Grandma. and yet I feel quite sad that he should die so young. I never imagined when I started my research years ago that I would be so moved by the discovery of some of my ancestors.
On a brighter note in just over a weeks time I will get to meet my OH'S Kansas Cousins Ken Nancy and kens Sister, who are coming to visit for a couple of days. They are distant cousins related through his Scottish Great Great Grandmother. We discovered each other here on 'Genes' while I was doing OH's Tree. Having only conversed by letter and online am looking forward to meeting them. They are very Sprightly 80 year olds who travel a lot and decided to visit Australia and NZ to see the Countries and meet up with a lot of their Relatives that they have discovered while researching on line.
I hope you had a nice lunch Sally. My thoughts are with you Evelyn& Ron. My Condolences Susan on the passing of your friend. Take care everyone Catch you all later Josie :-) :-) :-) <3 <3 <3

Hi all xxx
I'M CLEAR !!!!!!
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
I saw the radiologist at the BC Cancer Agency this morning ....... he said I did not need radiation treatment because the cancer was so very small.
It was only 2 mm in diameter
BUT .....................
because the cancer was invasive, and there were cells in the breast tissue, there is a very slight chance (2-5%) that a cancer cell may have got into the blood, so I am going on a course of tamoxifen for 5 years.
I go back to see the radiologist in 3 months to check whether it is working, whether there are any side effects, etc etc.
Thank you everyone for all your good wishes, and positive thinking! <3 <3 <3 <3

So sorry to hear your sad news Sue. 58 is so young these days. My thoughts are with you. <3
My word Arthur, you do get about don't you? It must have been the complexity of Evelyn's thread which has caused you to rush off for a quiet break - it has that effect on most of us :-D :-D
Actually, all is quiet on there at the moment. It has little flurries of activity when a new line of enquiry is being investigated.
I really don't know what to make of all these 'camps' which are springing up everywhere. It reminds me so much of the 1960's when rebellion (and love) was in the air. I don't mind people standing up for what they believe in at all, but I am always unsure as to whether some just jump on the bandwagon to cause trouble and upset. :-(
Honestly Anne, what am I going to do with you??
Right, go onto your Home Page where it says 'Hello Anne'.
On the left hand side you will see the word Community and, under that 'A selection of this month's videos'.
Underneath the 4 video pictures, click where it says 'view other members' success here'.
At the bottom right of the next screen, you will Photos. Evelyn's mum is about the sixth one down.
Hope that helps.....
I am still hithering and zithering around - nothing fantastic just a bit busy at times.
Had better go for my shower soon...
Waving ~~~~~~~~ to Robert, Sallie and Evelyn and all our friends.
<3 <3 to all. Cx.

Hi Everyone
Thank You for your kind wishes,I am feeling better today .
It was all such a shock as he was only a young man with everything to live for ,we are waiting now for the details of his funeral so we can arrange flowers to be sent re Inter floral.
Anne I totally agree we need more women in politics ,we do budget better and most of us don't waste money. I am getting sick of hearing about all the money we give away to other countries none of us can afford it but we still keep bailing countries out.
I believe our pollies also treat the countries monies as there own and spent it like there is no tomorrow. So much waste.
The weather here is bad at the moment rain wind and the occasional thunder and lightning, trying to get my washing dry without much luck I am affraid.
Drop in later tonight. Suex <3 <3

Morning all
Sue I am so sorry to hear your news - So very sad - however you will be at the funeral in spirit if not in body - I know he will know you are thinking of him on that very sad day.
Sylvia - they seem to pop up in all the big cities -
Someone somewhere needs to have a bit of common sense about all this recession etc in the world - they need to do something - what I don't know.
Its about time the governments came to realise thats its not the poor who need to be taxed - Its the rich ones who need to give more as they earn more - the poor need to be taxed less so they can have a life.
I think they need more women in government & more normal housewives who have to live on a budget - they would soon see sense then.
Well off my soap box now.
We sort of had a good weekend with the outlaws - no arguments - but my M in L could certainly teach the Spanish Inquisition a few things - she has a way of getting info out of you without you realising it - not so much the bright light on you or water torture - but have a sweetie little girl tactics.
Found myself discussing things with her I didn't want to & then had to try & dig my way out - the trouble is they split us up - he takes my OH & starts on him & she corners me in the bedroom - we won't let that happen again - unless we don't get a choice.
These oldies get very cunning.
Well better get to work - see what has been going on over the weekend.
Arthur - hope you had a good time in Bruge. Lovely place.
OH & I tried twice to get there by car - fist time we missed it - how we don't quite know - 2nd time there were so many traffic jams we spent nearly 3 hours trying to get in & had to turn back or miss our train home.
We started out extra early the 3rd time & had a fantastic day there - its very pretty. If we get the chance we are going to try Sluis next time as I ahve heard thats lovely too.
Take care all - will pop by later <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Sue
I am so very sorry to hear this news.
It is always hard when one leaves the country of one's birth, and goes far away. xxxxx
We are still having pretty nice weather here .......... cold nights (close to 0C last night), but the days are sunny, and getting up to about 7 or 8C. Such a change from the dreary heavy rain days that we often have in November and December.
We have one of those Occupy sites in Vancouver. The Mayor has been refusing to take any action against them, as long as they obey the law. It has not been easy for him, because we have municipal elections on November 19 ..... and one of his opponents for the Mayor's job, a whining complainer of a woman who has been on Council for the last 3 years as the only member not in his party or affiliated with his party ........................... has been going after him. "When I am Mayor (or IF I was Mayor), I would have (had) this site closed down immediately"
She doesn't seem to have realised what happened in Melbourne or Oakland when those cities did try to clear out the Occpy-iers.
Anyway ............. one guy overdosed on Thursday, was taken to hospital sharpish and will be OK. Then a woman was found unresponsive in her tent and later died on Friday afternoon
......... and the Mayor now says the city staff are examing the legal means of closing the site down.
There are far too many tents on the site, tarpaulins covering tents, propane bottles (full and empty) on site against the law. The Fire Chief has declared the site unsafe for occupancy, and ordered improvements to be made.
Presumably this will be included in the city staff deliberations.

Hi Everyone
It has been a difficult week this week,A cousin of mine that I have stayed in touch with from the UK died last night,he was 58 yrs of age.
He has had three kidney transplants over the years and the last one was from his sister ,it has been good for 8 yrs but Monday he was rushed to hospital with chest pains ,they have had him hooked up to all sorts of machines and in an induced coma since Monday but his body could take no more and we lost him last night. We still do not know what he died of so he will have an autopsy
I still feel it even though I have lived in OZ for some 45 yrs I have made it that I have stayed very close to all my rellies as I still miss them very much ,unfortunately I cannot afford to go back this time for his funeral ,I would like too but just to soon after my Auntie Pats funeral in Jan
Arthur I hope you have had a wonderful weekend ,so nice to be able to just pop off to Belgium, you are so close to it from the Uk.
Robert you just can't stay away can you and I am glad as we missed you on here.
Evelyn I do hope you and Ron are coping Ok,it must be very difficult for you but my love & thoughts are with you both as always <3
Going to sit down and watch and old black and white movie as I don't feel like doing anything at the moment.
Might be in a better farme of mind tomorrow . Love to all my dear friends. Suex :-( <3 <3 <3

Have read most of Evelyn's thread and have to admit - I AM CONFUSED.
A very difficult situation and probably needing professional help - not that I am underestimating the excellent skills demonstrated on this thread.
Off to Belgium for the weekend. Hope sunday is sunny as I will be visiting Bruges for the first time.

Cynthia - you are far too modest - you are a great help on all sorts of threads & your precis on Evelyn's thread is amazing darling - to use Craig's words.
Talking of Evelyn - Ron is going through a rough patch the moment - so if we can all do some thought channelling etc in her direction - I know she will appreciate it - she knows we are all thinking of her.
Such a sad time in anyones life
Well back to the grindstone or phone or whatever - trying to sort out a holiday - he is not sure what he wants - a country House hotel break - a long weekend away in the sun - or a trip to lapland
Not much difference between them is there !!!!!!!!!!! :-P
Keeps me on my toes
Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
